Bishop Sabino installs the first Parish Priest for Simbili Sub-Parish.

Rev.Fr. Moses Mugabi Abidrabo was installed as the first Parish Priest of St. Pius Catholic Simbili Sub-Parish. Simbili Sub-Parish, located in Maracha District, was created on the 1st January, 2021. The installation ceremony was officiated by Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, the Bishop of Arua Diocese. Mr. Justo Andama and Mrs.Joyce Tisia of Simbili chapel used the occasion to receive the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.

The Bishop in his homily congratulated the Christians of Simbili for their determination in the growth of the Sub-Parish. He conveyed his utmost gratitude to Oleba Parish for being a mother Parish to Simbili and assured the Christians that the spirit of togetherness will help Simbili be fully open as a full Parish sooner than later. The Bishop asked the Christians to always be associated with good work that is inspired by love. “When we have hatred, we betray our values as Christians. We should overcome negative sentiment and build a positive attitude towards God and our fellow human beings,” said the Bishop.He continued to say that the language that goes beyond any barrier is the language of love. Reflecting on the scripture readings of the day, the Bishop reminded the Christians of the gift of the Holy Spirit that is received at Baptism, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders and others that make them witnesses of Christ.

The Bishop also congratulated the married couples for the initiative to come forward and offer gratitude to God for the gift of a partner. He urged couples staying together to do the same. “In marriage there is nothing like trying, a partner is a gift God has created for you. Come out and say thank you to God for the gift of your partner. Gratitude to God is very important,” said the Bishop.
