Hundreds of Christians gathered at Ediofe Cathedral to celebrate the Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into the Holy City of Jerusalem. The main Celebrant of the Mass, Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, used the occasion to call upon the Christians to use the Cross and Jesus' suffering on the Cross as a reminder of how precious they are in the eyes of God.
He urged the congregation not to underrate being precious by doing unprecious things in the eyes of God. ”The Gospel today portrays suffering but we should see it the other way round. Jesus could not have suffered on the Cross if we were not that precious, we should respond to this by love and forgiveness." , said the Bishop.
The Bishop also noted that religious leaders today suffer in the hands of people and politicians as they are mistaken to be politicians." Just as Jesus was misunderstood to be a political leader, the same confusion happens today, Religious leaders are mistaken to be politicians. But their work is simply to bring the good news to the people of God." continued Bishop Sabino. He implored the parents to teach their Children the way of God.
