Bishop Sabino celebrated Mass on Friday for the repose of the soul of Sister Angela Luciana Aserua who died on 11th september 2022 . The Mass was celebrated at the Benedictin Sisters Monastery at Ediofe , Arua City on the 16th of September 2022.
In his homily, the Bishop reflected on the prayerful life of Sister Angela Aserua and the encouragement she was giving to the other sisters in the community. " I want to give witness that Sr. Angela has been a very prayerful person. Every time i came to pray here. Sr. was offering prayers for me. During the petition . Sister would say. let us pray for Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki. She put my ministry to God. And everytime she got opportunity to meet me, she was telling about me about her hilment and she was telling me, pray for me. As we know, this congregation was founded by the first Bishop of Arua Diocese, Late Bishop Angelo Tarantin, he founded this monastery so that thay can pray for the Bishops, pray for the clergy and pry for those in active pastoral work. And Sister put this in her heart. Am sure Bishops who will come after me will enjoy this privilage. I know Sister is in heaven and praying for me and for us. so let our mourning not be like the one of pagans. But let our faith sustain our hope that with God everything is possible"
Bishop appealed to the mourners to let their faith sustain their hope that Sister has done her work well and she is with God. Hegave his message of condolence to the family and asked the family to welcome his word of condolence. He thanked the family of Rev.Sr. Aserua for the good upbringing of Sister and for giving her to the service of the Church.
He appealed to the parents to encourage more girls who have callings to join the enclosure of the Benedictin Sisters not to discourage them but to encourage them to come and continue with the work that Sr. Aserua has left behind.
