Appointment of New General Council

The Daughters of the Merciful Love of Jesus and Mary Queen of the Apostles (Otumbari Sisters) held their First
General Chapter at the Spiritual Pastoral Centre (SPACE), Lodonga Minor Basilica Parish, from 31st August to
13th September.

Chapter facilitators with the new General Council of Daughters of Merciful Love of Jesus and Mary Queen of Apostles
The historic gathering brought together members of the Religious Institute for prayer, reflection, evaluation
of their mission, and discernment on the future direction of the congregation. The Chapter provided an opportunity
for the sisters to strengthen their commitment to their charism and apostolic service in the Church.
During the General Chapter, new chapter leaders were appoined to guide the Religious Institute in its mission and ministry.
The newly appointed leadership team comprises:
Sr. Maria Florence Ajiko - Superior General
Sr. Rose Komugisha - Vicaress General and In-charge of Formation
Sr. Rose Limio - Councilor in-charge of Economy General
Sr. Bernadette Asianzu - Councilor in-charge of Health
Sr. Rose Annah Aciro - Councilor in-charge of Education and Vocations
The new General Council will serve in guiding the congregation in spiritual growth, formation,
administration, and apostolic commitments.
The opening ceremony of the General Chapter was graced by the presence of the Bishop of the Diocese of
Arua, Rt.Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki together with members of the congregation and Chapter facilitators.
The facilitators accompanied the sisters throughout the Chapter discussions and discernment process.
The Diocese of Arua congratulates the newly appointed General Council and wishes them God's abundant
blessings as they undertake this important responsibility of service and leadership within the Religious
Institute and the wider Church.
