The Christian community of St. Kizito Queen of Heaven Parish, Yumbe , marked their Parish Day celebrations on the 3rd October 2025 with the confirmation of 92 candidates and the celebration of a wedding, in a ceremony presided over by the Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, Bishop of Arua Diocese.

Bishop Sabino in his adress commended the parish for its commitment to growth. He assured the congregation of more frequent pastoral visits.

He also talked about the matrimonial family as the foundation of the Church and encouraged Christians living together outside sacramental marriage to formalize their unions. "Marriage is a sacred covenant and a great gift from God, without married couples, the Church is incomplete. Many seek blessings before commitment, yet it is through commitment that blessings flow, make Christ present in your homes through prayer and reception of the Holy Eucharist."

Bishop praised the parish for fostering interreligious collaboration, expressing appreciation to the District Khadi of Yumbe for his warm reception, and to the Assistant Resident District Commissioner and Member of Parliament for Aringa South for their presence and support. He described such cooperation as a model for peaceful coexistence in a multi-faith district. "I was moved that the first person to welcome me was the District Khadi. It speaks volumes about the interfaith harmony and mutual respect in Yumbe."

Reflecting on the day's readings, the Bishop reminded the faithful that through baptism and confirmation, every Christian receives the Spirit of God and a mission to serve. He said that Christian ministry is to be shared among all believers clergy and laity alike calling for unity, hard work, and stewardship of talents.
"The Parable of the Talents challenges us to use our gifts productively. God has blessed us with intellect, hands, and opportunities, these are our first capital. To fail to use them is to waste His grace."
