Silver Jubilee Celebrations - Ajia Parish
Ajia Parish, Diocese of Arua | October 2, 2025 -
Ajia Catholic Parish joyfully celebrated its Silver Jubilee with a solemn Eucharistic Mass on Friday, 2nd October 2025,
under the theme "25 Years of Faithfulness and Guidance by the Angels - Sustained by Grace." The celebration, presided over
by Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, Bishop of Arua Diocese, drew large numbers of the faithful, clergy, religious, government
leaders, cultural representatives, and Christians from other denominations.
Bishop Sabino urged the faithful to prepare for the future, calling on Ajia Parish to plan strategically for the next 25 years with
hope and trust in God. In his homily, he described the Jubilee as a sign of maturity and God's abundant grace upon the parish.
He commended parishioners for their generosity in building a new church, giving special thanks to Hon. Lilian, Woman MP, for
her dedicated support. He called on the faithful to look back with gratitude and forward with hope.
He paid tribute to past parish priests, especially founding priest Rev. Fr. Martin, and expressed gratitude to the
Parish Pastoral Council, catechists, choirs, and apostolic groups such as St. Kizito, Catholic Women Association, Catholic
Action, and the Charismatic Renewal. He noted the strong role of women in parish activities and called for more men to
actively participate in church life.
Drawing from Scripture, the bishop emphasized angelic guidance and humility, reminding Christians that God has given each
one a guardian angel to guide their steps. Using a Gospel reflection and a story of innocence, he urged the faithful to
embrace childlike humility and purity of heart.
