Ozuu Chapel in Adumi Parish was filled with joy as the Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, Bishop of Arua Diocese, presided over a solemn Eucharistic Mass, marking the official opening of the chapel as a Eucharistic Center. The joyous occasion saw the confirmation of 461 young boys and girls into the Catholic Church and the solemnization of Holy Matrimony for five couples.

In his homily, Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki emphasized the importance of unity, encouraging Christians to foster a spirit of togetherness in their faith and community. He called upon the faithful to celebrate and uphold the sanctity of the Holy Family by embracing the sacrament of marriage, urging more couples to partake in Holy Matrimony.

The bishop also addressed the newly confirmed candidates, advising them to remain committed to their faith and prioritize their education. He warned against dropping out of school and encouraged parents to support their children's education instead of engaging in early marriages for bride price. "A parish without education cannot be strong." he urged.

Bishop Sabino also shared blessings from His Holiness, Pope Francis, following his recent visit to Rome. He conveyed the Pope's gratitude to Arua Diocese for its hospitality towards refugees from South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Acknowledging the diocese's role in providing both spiritual and livelihood support to over one million refugees, the bishop urged the faithful to continue offering prayers for the Pope, whose health is currently delicate.

He noted that during his travel he visited the retirement home of the Veronica Missionaries who have played a crucial role in the fields of education, healthcare, and spiritual guidance in the diocese. He encouraged the Christians to pray prayers for their well-being as they retire in their home countries. He also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly installed Bishop of Nebbi, Rt. Rev. Constantine Rupiny, expressing gratitude for the strengthened spiritual leadership in the region.

Bishop extended special thanks to Vicar General Msgr. Casto Adeti and all parish priests for their dedication in running the diocese in his absenture and commended Fr. Pio, the Parish Priest of Adumi, for his relentless service, noting the remarkable growth of chapels and parishes in his area of jurisdiction.

While reflecting on the establishment of Ozuu Chapel as a Eucharistic Center, the bishop marveled at the commitment of the Christian community in constructing a beautiful place of worship. He assured them that their prayers for Ozuu to become a full parish would be heard soon. "A parish is a responsibility, and I urge you to continue preparing well. A parish thrives on the Word of God, sacraments, and a strong sense of communion. I am pleased to witness the growth in faith, especially with today's celebration of the sacraments," he said.
