On July 10, 2024, Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki confirmed 136 young Christians at Ediofe Catholic Cathedral. During the
ceremony, Bishop Sabino encouraged the confirmands to embrace their newfound ability in the Holy Spirit and eliminate
fear as they embark on their journey as true witnesses of Christ.
"You are now missionaries, fully initiated into the Christian life," he stated. He cited the Apostles' transformation
after receiving the Holy Spirit, which empowered them to spread the Good News without fear.
Bishop Sabino urged the young confirmands to utilize their talents for missionary work and evangelization, becoming effective
messengers of Jesus Christ. He emphasized the importance of discovering their unique gifts, mentioning one young girl, Berna,
who memorized and confidently recited the first reading.
Bishop encouraged all confirmands to practice their skills in sharing the Gospel and to actively proclaim the risen Lord in
both words and actions while reminding the young people to listen carefully to the gospel teachings shared every Sunday
and to share the Gospel stories with others.
