In a momentous occasion, Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki expressed immense gratitude to stakeholders, particularly the Episcopal Conference of Italy, for the new magnificent classroom block at Odima Primary School. The event, held in Obi Parish, Arua Diocese, marked a significant milestone in the region's educational development.

Addressing the congregation, Bishop Sabino urged the community and the region at large to willingly offer more land to facilitate similar projects aimed at combating the high rate of educational decline in the West Nile region. He extended heartfelt thanks to the Parish Priest and Regional Superior for the Apostles of Jesus, Fr. John Mary, who traveled from Kampala to be part of the ceremony.

The Bishop also acknowledged the contributions of the Catechist and leaders of various Apostolic movements.

Among the dignitaries present were the Honourable Minister of State for Urban Development, Hon. Mario Obiga, along with other government officials from both central and local governments.

"Today, we gather to thank God for the gift of a beautiful school building. This dream has become a reality thanks to the Episcopal Conference of Italy and the generosity of the people of Italy."

Highlighting the school's long history, he noted, "Our school has lasted for 50 years without a building of this caliber. The people of Odima should be grateful to God and all those who helped make this possible. Great things happen when we live together in peace."

Bishop Sabino acknowledged the efforts of everyone involved in the project, particularly the Curate with whom the project was handed to and together oversaw its completion. He praised the engineers and their team for their excellent work, and the local community for their moral support and land donation.

He urged the community to continue supporting the school's development.

"It is not enough to just produce children, we need to educate them. This new block will help them grow in mind and body, promoting a healthy life and transforming this place into a center of learning."

Reflecting on the day's readings, Bishop Sabino drew parallels with Prophet Ezekiel's mission to the people of Israel, who were stubborn yet not abandoned by God. He emphasized the need for individuals with the spirit of God to inspire positive change, just as Ezekiel did.

"For 50 years, Odima has been in a bad state. Some pupils sat on stones, seeking refuge in the church during rain. Now, God has used us to make Odima a beautiful place of learning," Bishop Sabino concluded.
