In an effort to encourage young individuals, especially those recently confirmed in Moyo Parishes, to consider a life dedicated to priesthood, sisterhood, or brotherhood, Bishop Sabino has declared this year a special focus on vocation. Recognizing the aging clergy and the necessity for an infusion of youthful energy into religious life.
During a ceremony confirming 72 candidates, installing a Eucharist minister, and elevating the Odi chapel under Moyo Parish to a eucharistic center, Bishop Sabino spoke passionately about the significance of embracing one's calling in the Christian life.
Reflecting on the growth of faith in Moyo, the Bishop called for more vocations, stating, "Let's make this year a year of vocation in Moyo." Addressing the congregation, he highlighted the joy and fulfillment found in religious life, inviting young individuals to consider becoming priests, sisters, brothers, or catechists.
Bishop Sabino underscored the promises of God, drawing inspiration from the prophet Ezekiel's words about renewal and receiving a new heart. He emphasized the need for individuals to continually renew their hearts and spirits, reflecting on the promises that include being God's people and building confidence through faith, hope, and love.
The Bishop stressed on the importance of nourishing one's spirit with the word of God, encouraging Christians to read and live by the promises of the Lord. Quoting St. Paul's letter to the Galatians, he highlighted the need for the spirit to control the flesh, guiding believers away from behaviors such as sexual immorality, jealousy, and self-ambition.
Bishop shared insights from the Gospel according to St.Mathew, focusing on the Beatitudes and the significance of being poor in spirit as a desire to be in God's presence. He emphasized that material possessions should not overshadow the closeness to God, appreciating the decision to establish a eucharistic center.
He urged the Christians to embrace the eucharistic center by often visiting it with their families, friends and lovers and while passing by to bow and greet the Lord, and also to teach the children to do the same.
