The Bishop of Arua Diocese, Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki has expressed immense joy in celebrating the gift of the Eucharistic center at Oudo Chapel Adumi Parish.
Bishop, while reflecting on the growth of Adumi Parish since his arrival in 2009, commended the grassroots leaders at the chapels, zones, and the parish center for their commitment and dedication to transforming numerous chapels into Eucharistic centers. He congratulated the Adumi community for their maturity in faith, labeling the parish a model within the Arua Diocese.
During the Eucharistic celebrations, a remarkable 270 young Christians were confirmed into the Christian faith.The ceremony also witnessed the installation of two Eucharistic ministers who will be tasked with distributing Holy Communion not only at the church but also to the sick in hospitals and the elderly in far places, enrichment of the faith of both children and adults, preparing candidates and families for the sacraments of Christian initiation, as well as contributing to retreats and catechesis-related meetings.
Present during the occasion were distinguished guests, including representatives from the central government, Honorable John Lamatia, district leaders, cultural figures, and leaders from other religious denominations.
While addressing the congregation, Bishop Sabino conveyed deep appreciation to the congregation for their unwavering support extended to both the bishop and pastoral agents reminding the congregation that the responsibility for the church now rests squarely in their hands. He stressed, "It is our responsibility to ensure that the church, given to us by the missionaries, continues to thrive." He urged parishioners to maintain the high standards set by Adumi Parish, emphasizing the need for priests and the importance of having children to sustain the Church's future.
Bishop appealed for the need for children within marriages, denouncing decisions not to have children as a potential hindrance to the Church's growth. He emphasized, "If the church is in our hands, we need priests, and we must recognize the vital role children play in ensuring the future of the Church."
