Chrism Mass and Renewal of Priestly Commitment. Arua Diocese 2024.
Today, on the 27th of March 2024, Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral in Ediofe - Arua City hosted a splendid celebration of the Holy Chrism Mass. This significant event was presided over by the Bishop of Arua Diocese, Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki.
The beautiful celebration witnessed the the blessing of the Oil of the sick, the Oil of Catechumens, and consecration of the Holy Chrism Oil alongside renewal of vows by priests, Lector- Commentators, and Eucharistic Ministers, highlighting their commitment to their prietly ministry and service to the faithful.
Bishop Sabino who blessed the Oils called upon the congregation to be reminded by the Holy Oils of God's healing and strengthening presence in the lives of humanity. He urged the christians to continue to pray for the Eucharistic ministers and to support them in their service to the people of God. Bishop conveyed blessings from the Holy Father Pope Francis to the faithful of Arua Fiocese following his recent visit to Rome.
The Bishop described the presence of the priests who turned up in large numbers to signify unity within the Church, as they come together with the bishop and fellow clergy to renew their commitment to the priestly ministry and service to the faithful. He thanked the christians of Arua diocese for supporting his ministry as he celebrates his 15th Chrism mass in Arua Diocese.
During the same event, Bishop Sabino issued new appointments to several priests of the diocese, assigning them to new pastoral duties and responsibilities, thus marking a new chapter in their ministry.
