Feast of the Assumption with Confirmation Ceremony, Pakele - Adjumani.

Pakele, Adjumani - On Tuesday, August 15, 2024, St. Mary Assumpta Girls' Senior Secondary School in Pakele, Adjumani, celebrated the Catholic feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the school's patron saint. The event was marked by a significant confirmation of 86 students into the catholic faith. The celebration was presided over by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, Bishop of the Diocese of Arua. During the ceremony, Bishop Sabino praised the school for its exemplary balance between academics and religious obligations.

In his address, Bishop Sabino encouraged the students to emulate the virtues of their patron saint, the Virgin Mary, highlighting her humility, trust in God, prayerfulness, and obedience. He emphasized that those who trust in God will always find divine intervention in their lives, referencing the joy that Mary brought to Elizabeth during her visit as described in the Gospel.
Bishop Sabino expressed his gratitude for being able to celebrate the feast on the actual date, noting that the occasion usually finds him for his holiday away from the diocese. He thanked schoolss chaplain and headteacher for inviting him to join the celebrations.

The Bishop took the opportunity to thank the school community for their participation in his 40th priesthood anniversary celebration that was held on October 28, 2023. He commended the school for the touching presentation which he said had a lasting impact on all who witnessed it.

Bishop Sabino addressed the new student leaders, encouraging them to lead effectively and continuously strive to elevate the institution. He urged them to be grateful and committed, drawing inspiration from the Virgin Mary's example of gratitude and service.
