5th Diocesan Synod Implementation
The road map for the implementation of the 5th Diocesan Synod of Arua Diocese has been drawn effective January, 2022. There will be training of trainers (TOT) lasting for three days in the four vicariates of Arua Diocese. Home visits will be prepared with catechesis. Pastoral Coordinator of Arua Diocese, Rev. Fr. James Edema, is the Chairman of 5th Diocesan Synod Implementation Committee.
Bishop Sabino constitutes a team for Synodal Consultations
Following the call of the Holy Father, His Holiness Pope Francis, to constitute a Diocesan Team for consultations in preparation for the XVI Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, the Bishop of Arua Diocese has constituted a 24-member team for consultations at the Diocesan level. The Pastoral Coordinator of Arua Diocese, Rev. Fr. James Edema, has been appointed as the Chairman of the team. The Chairman will act as a point of reference and link with Uganda Episcopal Conference, and also mobilize other members of the team to accompany all the stages of the consultation process in the Diocese of Arua.
The theme for the XVI Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops is “For a synodal Church: communion, participation and mission.” This synod on the synodal nature of the Church will run from October 2021 to October 2023.
