Arua Diocese Celebrates the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at Lodonga Minor Basilica.

Monday, December 9, 2024 - Arua Diocese Arua Diocese marked the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Lodonga Minor Basilica in Yumbe District. The occasion began with a solemn Holy Mass, presided over by Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki.

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is an important celebration in the Catholic Church, honoring the belief that the Virgin Mary was conceived without original sin. This feast, celebrated annually on December 8th, recognizes Mary's purity and her significant role in the salvation of humanity.

In a special moment during the celebration, the Catholic Women and Men Association of Arua Diocese officially received the candle from Maracha Vicariate.

This symbolic act marks the transition of responsibility for organizing the Feast of the Immaculate Conception for the year 2025. The Catholic Women and Men Association will now take on the important task of animating and preparing for the celebration next year 2025.
