The central organizing committee members for the 2017 Diocesan Youth Celebrations to be hosted by Koboko Catholic Parish have intensified preparations for the occasion.
According to the General Secretary for the Central Organizing Committee Mr. William Adriko, over 20 million Shillings is required from members of the public for the event. He says they are expecting about 1200 Youth to attend the celebrations and a budget of about 22 million is required to finance the day. Mr. Adriko says that only a quarter of the budget has so far been realized and more mobilization for funds is still on going.
The Youth Chaplain of Koboko Catholic Parish Fr. Jimmy Apangu says that a number of activities will be undertaken to mark the day. According to him the activities will include the Way of the Cross and the Sacrament of Reconciliation among others.
Mr. Henry Adutia a youth in Koboko, has expressed high hopes saying that the Youth will use the day to evaluate their ways of life and desist from reckless lifestyles including drug abuse.
The Youth Celebrations will start on 4th of September and end on 9th September 2017. End
