The annual Pilgrimage Centre at Omach, in Nebbi Catholic Diocese where the first Cross was planted by the Comboni missionaries in 1910 is going to be developed as a big pilgrimage center in Gulu Province.
Speaking to the Christians during the celebration on 6th March 2018, the Bishop Ordinary of Nebbi Catholic Diocese Rt. Rev. Sanctus Lino Wanok called upon the Christians to volunteer to develop the Pilgrimage Centre.
At occasion, the Bishop Ordinary of Arua Diocese asked the Pilgrims to continue praying for the Diocese of Arua. The Bishop also reminded the Pilgrims of the annual Provincial Pilgrimage to Indriani pilgrimage in Arua Diocese that will be in September.
As Christians continue to show their commitment to Christ by moving to different Pilgrimage Centres, His Grace John Baptist Odama, the Archbishop of Gulu urged Christians to remain strong in their faith.
Omito Robert Steen the area Local Council V Chairperson stressed that they are going to do what it takes as a District to develop the Centre. As a first step towards this development, the District plansto open the access road to the Centre.
During the celebrations over three million Uganda shillings was realized in cash and some construction materials were given by Christians to help in the development of the pilgrimage site. End
