Arua Diocese Heads of Departments who included the Bishop, Chancellor, Episcopal Vicars, various office holders and leaders who help the Bishop in administration, came up with the above advice for the Catholic leaders and community of Arua Diocese. They also formulated a vision, mission and new strategic objectives for Arua Diocese and for its departments. This was during an Organizational Development Workshop which was held at Christus Centre from March 12 -17, 2018.
According to the Bishop Ordinary of Arua Diocese, Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, the Diocese has operated for many years without revised strategic objectives. He further added that having the new strategic plans for all the departments shall improve performance and service delivery.
Peter Van Erum, a staff of Horizon 3000 who was the facilitator recommended Arua Diocese for having intelligent office holders working in different departments.
Meanwhile Mr. Philip Asindua, the head of health department in the Diocese said that having revised strategic plans on board will make the Diocese to see vividly her role in fulfilling her mandate in supporting the health department.
Father Kizito Yandu, Diocesan Youth Chaplain argued the different stakeholders to collectively embrace the new strategic objectives that were formulated for different departments and be circulated to people so that they can understand how the different department operate in the Diocese.
As peace is one of the prerequisite for the development, the Program Officer for Justice Peace and Human Rights Commission, Elizabeth Ondoro said the new strategic objectives developed for the department will improve implementation of programs that are undertaken by the commission. End
