Bishop Sabino Odoki blessed the marriages
of 36 couples at Moyo Catholic Parish ahead of Centenary celebration of due on
August 19, 2017. He emphasized on the need to take on the seven sacraments that
connects Christians to God.
At the colourful celebration on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the parish, led by Bishop Sabino, urged families to remain committed to the vows of the Catholic Church.
Bishop Paride Taban of Torit Diocese while co-celebrating at the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary at Moyo Parish appealed to Christians to emulate the examples of mother Mary and her spouse to leave happy and dignified lives.
Bishop Taban called upon couples to respect, forgive and love each other in families as the base of the spiritual growth in Christians lives. He however cautioned parents against high demands for bride pride of their daughters that he said prevents Christians from the sacrament of Holy matrimony.
Rev. Fr. Henry Ondaga the Parish Priest of Moyo Catholic Parish urged the couples to be obedient and exemplary in the families so as to give light for those who have not been touched by the Holy Spirit. He challenged youth to respond to the calls of God through the various vocations.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Bishop Sabino also reminded the Christians of their responsibilities to be the light of Christ, he blessed and gifted each couple with the Holy Rosary and congratulated the central organizing committee of the centenary celebration and the entire Christians for the efforts geared towards the success of the celebration.
