The Christian community of the Diocese of Arua congregated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral-Ediofeto witness the sacrament of Holy Orders to Priesthood of Deacon Godfrey Guma and Deacon Denis RoyPariyo at a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration on August 26, 2017. At the same celebration, Seminarians William Andama, Edward Guma James AnyomaandFrancisOkuni were ordained Deacons.

Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki in his homily stressed that; through the ministry of priesthood, God calls Priests to bring the good news toChristians, prepare Christians to receive the sacramentsof baptism, confirmation, and penance among others as they also guide the Christians.

He also called upon the Christians to support the priests in their pastoral work. He said that Priests are servants of God and theentire Church as well; whoneed great support do their pastoral work well.

The Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese, assigned the newly ordained- Fr. Denis Roy Pariyo to Laropi Parishand Fr. Godfrey Gumawill serve as the second Curate at Christ the King Arua Town parish.

He also announced the creation ofOmugo parish to which he assigned Rev. Fr. Christopher M. Gabriel , FLP and Rev Fr. Geoffrey Ojandu, FLP of  the Missionary institute of Franciscans of Our Lady of the Poor and Rev. Fr Constantine Avagais the newly appointed Finance Administrator of the Diocese of Arua. End
