Rt Rev Sabino Ocan Odoki, Bishop of the Diocese of
Arua, has encouraged the Christian Community of the Diocese to organize bigger
celebrations for St. Daniel Comboni Day.
The Bishop pointed out that the Comboni family in the Diocese of Arua and West Nile has contributed greatly in terms of education, health spirituality among others.
Few Christians joined the Comboni family in the Diocese Arua to celebrate St Daniel Comboni Day at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ediofe.
The Bishop appreciated the Comboni Clergy, Religious and Lay Missionaries for the good work they have done to the spiritual, social and economic development of the Diocese and West Nile as whole.
Bishop Odoki encouraged the priests and religious of the Diocese of Arua to serve the people of God selflessly just like St. Daniel Comboni did.
“Sometimes in our ministry we feel like we are forced but let us take the attitude of being called and sent like St. Daniel Comboni to serve the people of God because to be like St. Daniel Comboni is like to be like Jesus”. The Bishop said.
He also called upon the Clergy and Religious to be good shepherds to the Christians as reflected in the Word of the day as re marked “The world of today has got its own challenges, it may vary from day to day but it demands us to help each other”.
Rev. Fr. Tonino Pasolini the Diocesan Communication Secretary and Director of Arua Diocese Media Centre appreciated the Bishop for honoring the call to celebrate the Mass on the feast day. He thanked the Christians for their cooperation reiterating their commitment to serve the people of Arua diocese. Fr. Tonino also prayed that through the celebrations of feast of St. Daniel Comboni who was the Bishop of Sudan could foster peace in the war ravaged South Sudan and give solace to the South Sudanese refugees in West Nile.
