Be Good Leaders - Youth Advised
Over 50 Youth Leaders in Arua Diocese who underwent a four-day Diocesan Youth Leadership Training, have been advised to share their new Leadership Skills and Techniques with others in their respective Parishes.
The Diocesan Youth Chaplain, Fr. Kizito Yandu expressed his gratitude to Rt Rev Sabino Ocan Odoki, Bishop of Arua Diocese for facilitating the Training with the theme ‘Building Leadership Skills in the Youth for Great Leadership in Church and Society’. This took place at St Daniel Comboni Youth Centre from 15 th to 18 th May 2019. The Youth Training included topics like Conflict Resolution and Transformation among the Youth, and Financial Management.
Some of the facilitators included Ms. Susan Aseru, Diocesan Youth Apostolate Leader, Mr. Mutabaazi Charles, YCS National Treasurer and Ms Agatha Sagne, IYCS Pan African Coordinator from Nairobi Head Office.
Bishop Sabino congratulated the Youth on taking leadership and stressed that they can only become good leaders if they organise and participate in activities. He explained that they should treat others with love, be faithful, disciplined, accountable and able teach others. He cautioned them that being a leader is demanding but they should never give up adding that challenges are opportunities. He also advised them to read and be inspired by the word of God pointing out that God must come first, others second and an individual last.
The overjoyed participants requested to meet the Bishop more often at which he responded in the
affirmative. They also instituted a Diocesan Youth Choir with its interim Team and elected Mr Sam
Enata its Chairman. End
